COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Lesch, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division, called the meeting to order at 9:47 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Considine moved to approve minutes from March 4, 2020. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3075 (Elkins): Classifying as private certain data on users of a shared mobility program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 13.72, by adding a subdivision.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3075 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Elkins presented HF 3075 to the committee.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3075 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1424 (Stephenson): Establishing a student loan advocate; requiring licensure of student loan servicers; prohibiting certain practices in student loan servicing.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 1424 be recommended to be referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

Representative Cantrell moved to adopt the A10 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Stephenson presented HF 1424 to the committee.

Representative Noor offered the A11 Amendment.

Representative Noor moved to adopt the A11 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lesch moved that HF 3517 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Lesch presented HF 3517 to the committee.

HF 3659 (Lesch): A bill for an act relating to government data; modifying certain Safe at Home provisions.

Representative Lesch moved that HF 3659 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Lesch moved to adopt the A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lesch presented HF 3659 to the committee.
