MINUTES

Representative Dehn, Chair of the Subcommittee on Elections, called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM on March 6, 2019 in Room 500S of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Neu moved to approve minutes for March 05, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Dehn moved HF 1372 (Long) to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

HF 1372 (Long) Relating to voters allowed to join permanent absentee voters list, and absentee ballots required to automatically be sent to permanent absentee voter list before election.

Representative Long testified on the bill.

Secretary Steve Simon, Office of Secretary of State testified on the bill.

Chair Dehn laid over HF 1372 for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

Representative Halverson moved HF 1153 (Halverson) to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus bill.

HF 1153 (Halverson) Presidential nomination primary allowed to be conducted by mail, access to voter party designation restricted, and the use of single ballot in the presidential nomination primary required, and additional reimbursements to counties for conducting the presidential nomination primary authorized.

Representative Halverson testified on the bill.
