MINUTES

Representative Persell, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:47am. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Fabian moved that the minutes of February 13, 2019 be approved THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Persell moved to refer HF758 to the General Register.

HF758 (Persell) Mississippi Headwaters Board jurisdiction over headwaters area ensured.

Representative Persell moved an oral amendment. Line 1.19 after “departments” add “wholly or partially” THE MOTION WAS INCORPORATED.

Representative Persell renewed his motion to refer HF758, as amended, to the General Register THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Becker-Finn moved to refer HF680 to the General Register.

HF680 (Tabke) Leashed dog use to track big game allowed.

Representative Becker-Finn moved the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Tabke presented HF680.

Representative Persell renewed his motion to refer HF721 to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Becker-Finn took HF680 off the table.

Representative Becker-Finn moved an oral amendment. Line 1.18 delete “person using a” and insert “used” after “dog”. Line 4.1 remove “If the deer or bear is located alive, any dog handler must leave the area immediate area.” and renumber accordinly. THE MOTION WAS INCORPORATED.

Representative Persell renewed the motion to move HF680 to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Persell moved HF200 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF200 (Anderson) Riparian buffer compensation program established, and money appropriated.
