MINUTES
Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Division, called the joint meeting to order at 2:30 PM on January 22, 2019 in Room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Presentations:
Sue Abderholden, Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness—Minnesota, presented an overview on the mental health crisis as it relates to youth.
Kelly Arrington, School Social Worker at Jenny Lind Elementary School, Trina Olson, School Counselor at Milaca Pubic Schools, and Jolie Holland, Legislative Chair at the School Nurse Organization of Minnesota presented as a panel on mental health support for students in schools.
Justin Killian, Education Minnesota, Casey Cavanaugh, Teacher at Adams Spanish Immersion School, and Jill Russell, Social Worker at Robbinsdale Public Schools, presented an overview of mental health challenges in the classroom.
Dr. Christopher Wall, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at PrairieCare, presented on managing mental health issues for children.
Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Policy Committee, adjourned the meeting at 4:02 PM.
