PROPERTY TAX AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Drazkowski, Chair of the Property Tax and Local Government Finance Committee, officially called the meeting to order at 8:17AM on February 28th, 2018, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson moved the minutes from March 21st, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2406 (Poston) County payments modified.

Representative Erickson moved HF2406 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Erickson moved the HF2406A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Erickson renewed her motion that HF2406, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2372 (Johnson, C.) Agricultural classification of land converted from agricultural use for environmental purposes allowed.

Representative Lien moved HF2372 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Lien moved the HF2372DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF2565 (Anderson, P.) Exempt property use by a private entity modified, and exemption added for conservation purposes

Representative Anderson, P. offered the following oral amendment: P.2, L. 2.20, insert “grazing” after “for” and before “activities. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF2770 (Drazkowski) Property tax system converted to a basis of assessed values and mill rates.

Representative Drazkowski moved HF2770 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Drazkowski moved the HF2770DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
