LEGACY FUNDING FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Dean Urdahl, Chair of the Legacy Funding Finance Committee, called the fifth meeting to order at 12:49P.M. on Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Green moved to approve the minutes of February 16, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Lee Emke of the Minnesota Zoo presented the zoo’s legacy fund request, and testified about past uses of legacy funds and proposed projects. Mr. Emke also testified as to how Legacy dollars have spurred private partnership with the zoo to complete certain exhibits.

Sue Mackert and Pam Paulson, Ph.D., of the Perpich Center for Arts Education presented the center’s Legacy fund request and related how past allocations have been used in greater Minnesota to train teachers in arts education.

HF19 Kahn, Minnesota State Band funding provided, and money appropriated. Chair Urdahl laid the bill over for possible inclusion in the Legacy omnibus bill.

Charles Boody, Ph.D., Conductor of the Minnesota State Band, testified in favor of HF19.

Representative Heintzeman assumed the gavel at 2:18 P.M.

Representative Urdahl assumed the gavel at 2:22 P.M.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:26 P.M.
