HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM on February 4, 2013, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Dorholt moved that the minutes of January 30, 2013, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Matt Gehring, House Research, gave a brief overview on the documents, Governing Higher Education in Minnesota: Public Postsecondary Systems and Agencies, and on the Election of University of Minnesota Regents.

The University of Minnesota continued its financial overview to members of the committee.

Testifying from the University of Minnesota:

Richard Pfutzenreuter, Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Julie Tonneson, Associate Vice President for Budget and Finance
Lincoln Kallsen, Director of Financial Research

Further testimony from the University of Minnesota will continue at the next hearing scheduled for February 6, 2013.
