ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative David Dill, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee, called the twenty third meeting to order at 4:05 p.m., on March 12, 2014, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative McNamara moved approval of the March 11, 2014, minutes.

MOTION PREVAILED

Chair moved HF 2412 - relating to natural resources; requiring general permit for control of certain cattails – before the committee and recommended it be laid over for inclusion in the Game and Fish bill.

Chair moved H2412DE2, the delete everything amendment to HF 2412.

Lee Frelich, U of M Forest Ecology & Friends of Loring Park, presented information on the bill.

Bob Meier, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, commented on the bill.

Chair renewed his motion to lay the bill over for inclusion in the Game and Fish bill.

Representative Hansen moved HF 2804 – relating to natural resources; requiring a native quail recovery plan – and recommended it be laid over for inclusion in the Game and Fish bill.

Bob Meier, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Lance Ness, Fish and Wildlife Alliance, commented on the bill.

Representative Hansen renewed his motion to lay the bill over for inclusion in the Game and Fish bill.
