MINUTES

Representative Atkins, Chair of Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 4:11 PM on April 17, 2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Hoppe moved to approve the minutes from the meeting April 16, 2013. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 157 (Hilstrom) Bullion coin dealers regulated, registration required, conduct prohibited, and enforcement authority and criminal penalties provided.

Rep. Hilstrom moved that HF 157 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the General Register.

Rep. Hilstrom moved the H0157DE4 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hilstrom moved that HF 157 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1301 (Hortman) State energy conservation policies provided for.

Rep. Hortman moved that HF 1301 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the General Register.

Rep. Hortman moved the H1301A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hortman moved that HF 1301 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Schoen assumed the gavel at 4:27 PM.

HF 1755 (Atkins) University of Minnesota Hospitals ownership and control required to be exercised by the University of Minnesota or a Minnesota nonprofit.

Rep. Atkins moved that HF 1755 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Health and Human Services Policy.

HF 1721 (Abeler) Hospitals sold or transferred to an out-of-state entity’s charitable assets received from the state must be returned to the general fund

Rep. Schoen moved that HF 1721 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Health and Human Services Policy.
