JUDICIARY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Shimanski, Chair of the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:20 A.M. on March 1, 2012, in Room 10 (ground floor) of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present at the beginning of the meeting.

Representative Simon presented HF 2149. Domestic violence-related offense qualifying definition expanded.

Representative Gruenhagen moved HF 2149 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Gruenhagen moved the DE2149DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Gruenhagen renewed his motion that HF 2149, as amended, be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Nornes presented HF 1428. Emily's Law established, and age of extended jurisdiction juvenile prosecution for violent offenses lowered.

Representative Vogel moved HF 1428 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Vogel moved the H1428A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Vogel renewed his motion that HF 1428, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Schomacker moved approval of the February 23, 2012 Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Gruenhagen presented HF 1665. Fifth degree assault and domestic assault provisions added to crime of violence.

Representative Gruenhagen moved HF 1665.

Representative Daudt presented HF 2081. Electronic benefit transfer cards modified, and electronic benefit transfer card use regulated.

Representative Swedzinski moved HF 2081 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Swedzinski moved the H2081A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Anderson moved that HF 2081, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Shimanski adjourned the meeting at 9:11am.
