HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Abeler, Chair of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:08 P.M. on January 24, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Abeler officially called the meeting to order at 1:08 P.M.

A quorum was present.

Representative Slawik placed HF291 in front of the committee.

Representative Slawik moved the following oral amendment.

Line 1.8 delete "2,000,000" and insert "3,935,000"
Line 1.9 after "Maplewood to" insert "complete the purchase of,"
Line 1.11 after "services," insert "elder care resources,"
Line 1.15 delete "2,000,000" and insert "3,935,000"

The oral amendment was adopted.

Representative McFarlane, Beverly Dusso, Tubman, testified on HF291.

Representative Slawik moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on November 21, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Anderson placed HF1922 in front of the committee.

Representative Howes and Steve Lepinksi, Executive Director, Washburn Center for Children, testified on HF1922.

Representative Fritz placed HF285 in front of the committee.

Representative Fritz, Rick Cardenas, Co-Director, Advocating for Change Together, and Dan Goud, Member of Advocating for Change Together, testified on HF285.

Chuck Johnson, CFO, MN DHS, Maureen O'Connell, Assistant Commissioner, Chemical and Mental Health Services, MN DHS, presented the Governor’s 2012 Capitol Budget Requests for the Department of Human Services.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:16 P.M.
