MINUTES

Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM on January 18, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present and Chair Erickson called the meeting to order.

Representative Benson moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on January 13, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF3 (Mariani) Alternative teacher preparation program and limited term teacher license established.

Representative Mariani presented the bill and stood for questions.

The committee heard testifiers for the bill.

Representative Kath moved the H0003A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Mariani renewed the motion that HF3, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to K-12 Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF63 (Garofalo) Teacher licensure provisions amended, alternative teacher preparation program and limited-term teacher license established, and report required.

Representative Garofalo presented the bill.

The committee heard public testimony.

Chair Erickson moved the A0063DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
