MINUTES

A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:13 AM on March 8, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Doepke moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 3, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF339 (Kelly) Teacher employment contracts negotiation process identified.

Chair Erickson moved that HF 339 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. Chair Erickson moved the H0339A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kelly presented the bill and stood for questions.

Representative Norton moved that HF 464 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Representative Norton renewed the motion that HF 464, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Erickson called a recess of the meeting at 9:30 AM.

Chair Erickson reconvened the meeting at 6:00 PM.

HF 329 (Bills) Public school employees prohibited from using public funds and resources to advocate to pass, elect, or defeat a political candidate, ballot question, or pending legislation.

Chair Erickson moved that HF329 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Chair Erickson moved that HF 558 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance.
