MINUTES


Representative Patti Fritz, Vice-Chair of the Division, called the twelfth meeting to order at 1:14 P.M. on, March 25, 2009, in the basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members present:
Davnie, Jim, Chair
Fritz Patti, Vice-Chair

Mack, Tara
Mahoney, Tim
Murdock, Mark
Sanders, Tim
Simon, Steve
Solberg, Loren
Zellers, Kurt

Members excused:
Nelson, Michael V.

Representative Fritz called the meeting to order at 1:14 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Mahoney moved adoption of the March 20, 2009 minutes.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Representative Davnie moved approval of HF1834 be recommended to pass and sent to the Commerce and Labor committee.

HF1834 (Thissen) Plumbing practices and medical gas systems work regulated.


Representative Davnie moved an oral amendment:
Page 1, Line 1.23 delete "standards adopted" and insert "rules adopted".
Page 2, Line 2.9 delete "standards" and insert "rules".
The amendment was adopted.


Testimony was given by:
Carl Crimmins - President, Minnesota Pipes Trades


Representative Davnie renewed his motion that HF1834 be recommended to pass as amended and be re-referred to Commerce and Labor committee.
The motion prevailed.


Representative Davnie assumed the chair.

Representative Davnie moved approval of HF326 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Labor committee.

HF326 (Clark) Bisphenol-A prohibited in products for young children.


A handout was given to division members:
"CMI Opposes – Minnesota HF326"


Representative Fritz moved approval of amendment H0326A1.
The amendment was adopted.

Representative Zellers moved approval of amendment H0326DE5.
The amendment was adopted.


Representative Davnie renewed his motion that HF326 be recommended to pass as amended and be re-referred to Commerce and Labor committee.
The motion prevailed.


Representative Mahoney moved approval of HF1813 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Labor committee.

HF1813 (Juhnke) Elevators in grain elevators regulation provided.


Testimony was given by:
Bob Zelenka - Executive Director of MN Grain Dealers Association

Representative Mahoney moved approval of amendment H1813A1.
The amendment was adopted.

Representative Mahoney renewed his motion that HF1813 be recommended to pass as amended and be re-referred to Commerce and Labor committee.
The motion prevailed.


The meeting adjourned 1: 30 P.M.
