MINUTES
Representative Ron Shimanski, Vice-Chair of the Crime Victims & Criminal Records Division, started the sixth meeting at 8:34 am on Friday, March 20, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present and the meeting was called to order.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Lesch called for a motion to approve the minutes of March 13th, 2009.
Rep. Hilstrom moved to approve the minutes of March 13, 2009.

HF1043 (Johnson): Job applicant’s criminal history consideration addressed during the public employment hiring process.
Rep. Paymar moved that HF1043 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Public Safety Policy & Oversight Committee.

HF891 (Champion): Expungement law expanded and modified, courts authorized to modify or suspend collateral sanctions under certain circumstances, and situations limited in which juvenile delinquency criminal record is public available.
Rep. Paymar moved that HF891 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Public Safety Policy & Oversight Committee.

HF1768 (Lesch): Sex trafficking criminal penalties increased, victim housing and support services provided, technical training for judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement provided, public awareness increased, Minnesota family investment program eligibility and waiver provisions addressed, money appropriated.
Rep. Lesch moved that HF1768 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Public Safety Policy & Oversight Committee.

HF1449 (Lesch): Criminal intelligence data clarified under the Data Practices Act.
