Representative Ron Erhardt, Chairman of the Transportation Policy Committee, called the Twenty-first meeting to order at 2:40 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

Rep. Cybart moved approval of the March 22, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Gazelka moved approval of the March 29, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Larson moved approval of HF468 (Hansen) Motorized bicycle definition modified to include bicycles propelled by an electric or liquid fuel motor, and recommended it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety.

Rep. Hansen presented HF468.

Rep. Larson renewed his motion to approve HF468 (Hansen) and that it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Rep. Holberg moved approval of HF2097 (Holberg) Motor vehicle registration tax refunds regulated, registration procedures modified, and technical and clarifying changes provided, and recommended it be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance.

Rep. Holberg renewed her motion to approve HF2097 and that it be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Holberg moved approval of HF2063 and recommended it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety.

Rep. Holberg moved adoption of the A05-0468 amendment to HF2063 (Holberg). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Holberg renewed her motion approve HF2063, as amended, and that it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Erhardt moved approval of HF1730 (Beard) A house resolution memorializing the President and Congress to support Amtrak funding and recommended it be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Beard presented HF 1730.

Rep. Erhardt renewed his motion to approval HF1730 and that it be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Olson moved approval of HF1818 (Olson) Transportation providers not receiving subsidies exempted from various taxes, transit bus restriction on use of freeway and expressway shoulders eliminated, and Metropolitan Council required to allow transit providers to use its bus stops, and recommended it be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance.

Rep. Olson presented HF1818.

Rep. Olson renewed his motion to approve HF1818 and that it be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Nelson moved approval of HF1402 (Nelson) Cellular telephone operation in motor vehicle prohibited by holder of provisional driver's license or instruction permit, and recommended it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety.

Rep. Nelson presented HF1402.

Rep. Nelson renewed his motion to approve HF1402 and that it be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
