MINUTES


Representative Ron Erhardt, Chairman of the Transportation Policy Committee, called the Nineteenth meeting to order at 2:45 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chairman Erhardt spoke to committee members regarding funding needs for transportation.

John Williams, House Research, presented information provided by the Transportation Alliance on funding alternatives for transportation.

Chairman Erhardt requested members complete a questionnaire during committee on funding options that each could support.

Rep. Nelson assumed the Chair.

Rep. Erhardt moved adoption of the A05-0373 amendment to HF945 (Erhardt) Highway sign program billing authorized; business signs criteria modified, quiet zones provisions modified, commuter rail corridor coordinating committee sunset removed, and money appropriated, and recommended it be placed on the General Register with the following changes:

Page 13, delete article 2, section 2
Page 25, delete article 2, sections 17 and 18
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

John Williams, House Research, presented HF 945, as amended, section by section.

Rep. Ruth moved adoption of the H0945A3 amendment to HF 945. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Lieder moved adoption of the H0945A4 amendment to HF 945. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Erhardt moved adoption of the H0954A5 amendment to HF945. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Severson moved adoption of the H0945A2 amendment to HF945. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presenting testimony on HF945 as amended was:
Larry Ollila, Driver Vehicle Services

Rep. Erhardt renewed his motion to approve HF945, as amended, and it be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Erhardt resumed the Chair.


The meeting was adjourned at 3:46 P.M.
