TRANSPORTATION POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES


Representative Ron Erhardt, Chairman of the Transportation Policy Committee, called the Fifth meeting to order at 2:35 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Soderstrom moved approval of the minutes: January 26, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt announced the following members of the Subcommittee on Aviation:
BEARD, Mike, Chairman
ANDERSON, Bruce
GAZELKA, Paul
HORNSTEIN, Frank
LARSON, Dan
LIEDER, Bernie
RUTH, Connie
SEVERSON, Dan

Chairman Erhardt recommended HF124(Magnus) to pass and be considered for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation bill.

Rep. Magnus presented HF124.

Betsy Parker, MnDOT, offered clarification on turnback roads.

Chairman Erhardt renewed his motion to approve HF124(Magnus) and that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the Transportation Omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt recommended HF187(Blaine) to pass and be considered for possible inclusion in the Transportation Omnibus bill.

Rep. Blaine presented HF187.

Chairman Erhardt moved adoption of the A05-0018 amendment to HF187(Blaine). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt renewed his motion to approve HF187(Blaine) as amended and that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presenting for MnDOT on the right-of-way acquisition process was:
Al Pint, Director, MnDOT Office of Land Management.

Dick Freerich, Eden Prairie, offered testimony and recommendations regarding the auditing of department land acquisition activities.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:40P.M.
