MINUTES


Representative Marty Seifert, Chairman of the State Government Finance Committee, called the fortieth meeting to order at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Members present:

SOLBERG, LOREN KAHN, PHYLLIS MULLERY, JOE

Members Excused:

A quorum was present.

Chair Seifert moved HF2921 be recommend to pass and referred to the Committee on Taxes.
Testifying: Commissioner Clark Dyrud, Dept. of Veterans Affairs


Chair Seifert the amendment labeled H2921A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Seifert the amendment labeled H2921A8. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Seifert moves the amendment A12.
Chair Seifert moves to orally amend the A12 as follows:
Line 1.2 delete “2,400,000” and insert “2,300,000”
Line 1.4 insert “100,000”
Line 1.5 delete “500,000” and insert “600,000”
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kahn moves to orally amend HF2921, the A12 amendment as follows:
Pg 9 after line 15 insert: “This funding may be utilized to assist counties in consolidating their county veterans service offices into bi’county or multi-county service offices.”
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Chair Seifert renews his motion that the A12 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Seifert moves to orally amend HF2921 as follows:
Line 9.23, after “Universities” insert “private colleges”

Chair Seifert renews his motion that HF2921, as amended, be recommend to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Krinkie moves that HF2921, as amended, be recommend to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
