MINUTES


Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee, called the fortieth meeting to order at 8:23 a.m., on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Ruth moved to approve the Minutes of April 5, 6 & 7, 2005. The motion prevailed and the Minutes of April 5, 6, & 7, 2005 were approved.

H.F.2212 (Tingelstad) Sesquicentennial Commission established to plan activities relating to the 150th anniversary of Minnesota statehood, and money appropriated.

Chair Gunther moved HF2212 to be before the committee and laid over HF2212 for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.


H.F.932 (Seifert) Residency information collection required on applicants of certain human services programs.

Representative Wilkin moved HF932 to be before the committee and recommended HF932 be laid over HF932 for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

H.F.400 (Mahoney) School food service workers unemployment insurance eligibility exception made permanent.

Representative Mahoney moved HF400 to be before the committee and recommended HF400 pass and sent to the committee on Ways & Means.

Representative Mahoney renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF400 and re-referral to the Committee on Ways & Means. The motion prevailed.


H.F.1741 (Thao) Group residential housing supplemental rate modified for certain specified facilities.

Representative Wilkin moved HF1741 to be before the committee and be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

H.F.986 (Nelson) Urban initiative program definition of low income area modified.

Representative Nelson moved HF986 to be before the committee and recommended passage of HF986 and send to the General Register.

Representative Nelson moved to adopt Amendment A05-0370. The motion prevailed and Amendment A05-0370 was adopted.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF986, as amended, and send to the General Register. The motion prevailed.


H.F.762 (Kelliher) Truant children parental notice inclusion of possible availability of mental health screening provided.

Representative Sertich moved HF762 to be before the committee and recommended passage of HF762 and re-referral to the committee on Education Finance.

Representative Kelliher presented HF762.
