1.16period of not less than 12 months, from engaging in any substantial gainful activity and that
1.17is the direct result of an injury that incurred during, or a disease arising out of, the
1.18performance of normal duties or the actual performance of less frequent duties, either of
1.19which are specific to protecting the property and personal safety of others and that present
1.20inherent dangers that are specific to the positions covered by the State Patrol retirement
1.21fund.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2023."
