Happy Friday the 13th. Hope you’re not superstitious.

Just over one week remains until the 2022 legislative session must constitutionally end on May 23. But Sec. 4, Art. 21 of the Minnesota Constitution says "Passage of bills on last day of session prohibited. No bill shall be passed by either house upon the day prescribed for adjournment.”

So Sunday, May 22 is the actual deadline for lawmakers to finish their work, and with the Republican state convention today and tomorrow in Rochester pausing many of the conference committees working to resolve differences in House and Senate bills, time to pass major omnibus legislation is dwindling.

As negotiations continue behind the scenes, few conference committees currently have hearings scheduled, but due to the fluid nature of events this time of year check out the Combined Legislative Meeting Calendar for the most comprehensive list of upcoming conference committee meetings.

Have a good weekend, avoid walking under ladders, and here’s a look back at what you may have missed over the last few days.
