Starting Line: Focusing on the father

Studies show that children and families thrive with the presence of a loving and nurturing father. Some states have created commissions or working groups aimed at strengthening families and the well-being of children by providing opportunities for fathers to become better parents, partners, and providers.

Rep. Sondra Erickson (R-Princeton) would like to see a similar group in Minnesota. She sponsors HF3301 to create a 12-member body to work on finding ways to help enhance the role fathers play within the family.
