Starting Line: No more doggies in the window at retail pet shops

In 1952, Patti Page recorded “The Doggie in the Window” that could be found toward the top of the charts. You don’t hear that song much anymore, nor do you see many puppies or kittens in shop windows.

The few pet shops that sell dogs and cats may not be doing so much longer. Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn (DFL-Eden Prairie) sponsors HF3369, legislation that would prohibit retail pet shops from selling these animals.

Learm more about the bill in this week's edition of Starting Line.
