Starting Line: Should Minnesota implement automatic voter registration?

According to the Secretary of State’s office, Minnesota once again topped the national list for voter turnout in November’s election. With over 64 percent of eligible voters taking part, it seems that the state’s civic engagement is on solid footing.

As impressive as the numbers are, one representative wants to get even more people involved in the process. This week on Starting Line we visit with Rep. Jennifer Schultz (DFL-Duluth) and learn more about HF45, a bill that would automatically register people to vote when they apply for a driver's license, instruction permit or state identification card.
