WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 9:03 A.M. on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Edelson moved that the Minutes of May 3, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4822 (Feist) Tax-forfeited property excess sale proceed distribution modified, and money appropriated.

Chair Olson moved that HF 4822 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the A6 amendment to HF 4822. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Feist presented HF 4822 as amended.

Chair Olson renewed the motion that HF 4822, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF5246 (Lislegard) Tax-forfeited lands settlement account established, money transferred, reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Olson moved that HF 5246 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the A1 amendment to HF 5246. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lislegard presented HF 5246 as amended.

Chair Olson renewed the motion that HF 5246, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF912 (Agbaje) Layla Jackson Law established, child welfare provisions modified, African American Child Well-Being Advisory Council established, reports required, and money appropriated.

Representative Agbaje moved that HF 912 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Agbaje moved the DE8 amendment to HF 912. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Agbaje presented HF 912 as amended.

Representative Agbaje renewed the motion that HF 912, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4571 (Liebling) Health Supplemental Budget Bill.

Chair Olson moved HF 4571 before the committee.

Representative Liebling moved the A20-1 amendment to HF 4571. THE MOTION PREVAILED THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Liebling presented HF 4571 as amended.

Representative Agbaje moved the A24 amendment to HF 4571. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Following discussion Chair Olson laid over HF 4571 as amended.

Chair Olson recessed the meeting at 9:47 A.M.

Chair Olson reconvened the meeting at 6:49 P.M.

SF4699 (Liebling) Omnibus Health and Human Services supplemental appropriations and policy provisions

Representative Liebling moved that SF 4699 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Liebling moved to delete everything after the enacting clause in SF 4699 and insert the language for HF 4571, the first engrossment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Liebling renewed the motion that SF 4699, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting adjourned at 6:51 P.M.
