TAXES COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 9:06 AM on April 30, 2024 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Norris moved that the minutes from April 19, 2024 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4822 (Feist) Tax-forfeited property excess sale proceed distribution modified, and money appropriated.
Chair Gomez moved that HF4822 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Gomez moved the H4822A3 amendment.

Chair Gomez offered an oral amendment to the H4822A3 amendment:
• Page 2, line 22, after the first comma, insert “85.013,”.
THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Chair Gomez renewed the motion to adopt the H4822A3 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Gomez moved the H4822A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREAVILED THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Feist presented HF4822, as amended.

HF5246 (Lislegard) Tax-forfeited lands settlement account established, money transferred, and money appropriated.
Representative Lislegard moved that HF5246 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Representative Lislegard moved the H5246DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAIELD. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Lislegard presented HF5246, as amended.

Testifying on HF5246, as amended:

Representative Lislegard renewed the motion that HF5246, as amended, be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2000 (Stephenson) Sports betting and fantasy contests provided for and authorized, local restrictions prohibited, sports betting and fantasy contests taxation provided, civil and criminal penalties provided, amateur sports grants provided, charitable gambling provided, pari-mutuel horse racing provided, reports required, and money appropriated.
Chair Gomez moved that HF2000 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Gomez moved the H2000A32 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
