Rules and Legislative Administration Committee Minutes

Representative Jamie Long, Chair of the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration, called the meeting to order at 10:10 am on January 19, 2023 in the State Office Building Basement Hearing Room.

A quorum was present.

Representative Moller moved the minutes from January 17, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Long moved the adoption of the Calendar for the Day pursuant to rule 1.21 & 3.33, The Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration designates January 23rd, 2023 for the adoption of the Calendar for the Day and has established a pre-filing requirement for amendments offered to those bills.

Chair Long moved to approve 2023-R11, Resolution on Committee and Minority Caucus Budgets. Barb Juleich, Controller and Chief Financial Officer of Budget and Accounting of the Minnesota House of Representatives Budget and Accounting Department, testified on the Resolution.

Lead Demuth moved to increase the Minority Caucus budget by $4,000 and take that amount from other budgets which have increased.

Controller Juelich testified that sufficient funds were available without reducing other budgets.

Chair Long moved to increase the Republican Caucus budget by $4,000 as an addition to the overall budget. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Long moved to approve 2023-R11, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 am.
