PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES


Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on January 24, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Engen moved that the Committee minutes from January 19, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 424 (Bahner) Definition of qualified domestic violence-related offenses amended to include additional crimes.

Chair Moller moved to lay over HF 424.

Rep. Pinto moved the H0424A1 amendment.

Rep. Pinto presented the H0424A1 amendment.

Chair Moller renewed the motion for the H0424A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Bahner presented HF 424, as amended.

HF 424 Testifiers:

HF 93 (Pinto) Slavery or involuntary servitude prohibited as criminal punishment for crime, and constitutional amendment proposed.

Rep. Pinto moved that HF 93 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Rep. Feist moved that HF 43 be referred to the General Register.

Rep. Feist moved the H0043A1 amendment.

Rep. Feist presented the H0043A1 amendment.

Chair Moller renewed the motion for the H0043A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
