JOINT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE AND PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on, February 29th, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistants noted the roll.

Presenting:
• Rebekah Mannix, Professor of Pediatricts, Harvard Medical School and Senior Associate, Boston Children’s Hospital.
Chair Moller assumed the gavel.

HF4300 (Becker-Finn) Standards for safe storage of firearms and criminal penalties established for failing to meet those standards.

Chair Becker-Finn presented HF4300.

The Joint Committee hearing on Feb. 29th will be a ticketed event. First come, first serve. The hearing will be broadcasted on the Minnesota House Live Webcast and Mobile Streaming. There will also be an overflow room.

This hearing will have remote testimony capability.

Immediately following the joint hearing, the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee will take action on the bills.

Items may be added or removed at the Chair’s discretion.
