EDUCATION POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Laurie Pryor, Chair of the Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 3:02 PM on February 7, 2023 in Room 120 of the Capitol.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Hill moved to approve the minutes from February 1, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF806 (Youakim); Building Assets, Reducing Risks Center funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Youakim moved that HF806 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Representative Youakim presented HF806.

Representative Youakim renewed the motion that HF806 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Hill assumed the gavel at 3:35 pm.

HF1269 (Pryor); Prekindergarten through grade 12 provisions modified including general education accountability and transparency, education excellence, American Indian education, charter schools, discipline, teachers, special education, and early learning; and reports required.

Chair Pryor moved that HF1269 be laid over for further consideration or possible inclusion in an Education Policy Committee omnibus bill.

Chair Pryor presented HF1269.
