EDUCATION POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Laurie Pryor, Chair of the Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to
Order at 3:00 PM on January 24, 2023 in Room 120 of the Capitol.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Berg moved to approve the minutes from January 18, 2023. THE MOTION
PREVAILED.

HF320 (Hassan); Teachers of Color Act strengthened, percentage of teachers of color and
American Indian teachers in Minnesota increased, world's best workforce requirements amended,
Reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Pryor moved that HF320 be referred to the Committee on Education Finance.

Chair Pryor moved the H0320A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE
AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Pryor renewed the motion that HF320 as amended be referred to the Committee on
Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF368 (Hanson); Malicious and sadistic conduct involving race, gender, religion, sexual
harassment, sexual orientation and sexual exploitation prohibited.

Representative Feist moved that HF368 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Education Policy Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Feist moved the H0368A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE
AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hanson presented HF368 as amended.

Rep. Keeler moved that HF271 be to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Education Policy Committee omnibus bill.

Rep. Edelson presented HF271.
