EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:33 AM on February 16, 2023, in Room 120 of the Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistance noted the roll.

Representative Pursell moved that the minutes from February 9, 2023, with a technical correction, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pryor moved that the minutes from February 15, 2023, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 100 (Stephenson) Omnibus cannabis bill.

Chair Youakim moved HF 100 before the committee.

Representative Stephenson presented HF 100.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 100 be re-referred to the Health Finance and Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 320 (Hassan) Teachers of Color Act strengthened, percentage of teachers of color and American Indian teachers in Minnesota increased, world’s best workforce requirements amended, reports required, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Clardy moved HF 320 before the committee.

Representative Hassan presented HF 320.
