EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:34 AM on January 25, 2023, in Room 120 of the Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistance noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Clardy moved that the January 24, 2023, minutes be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 5(Jordan) School lunch and breakfast for all students provided.

Representative Jordan moved HF 5 before the committee.

Rep Jordan moved the DE3 amendment.

Representative Jordan moved the A11 amendment to amend the DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Jordan moved the DE3 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Jordan moved that HF 5 as amended be moved to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 180 (Hanson, J.) Independent School District No. 191, Burnsville- Eagan-Savage; School District.

Representative Hanson presented HF 180.

Chair Youakim laid over HF 180 for inclusion in the final Education Finance bill.

Chair Youakim called the meeting to order at 10:58 AM.

House File 44 (Feist) School districts required to provide access to menstrual products for students, operating capital aid increased to fund school district purchases of menstrual products, and money appropriated.

Representative Clardy moved HF 44 re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Clardy moved the A7 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDENT WAS ADPOTED.

Representative Clardy renewed the motion to re-refer HF 44, as amended, to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:27 AM.
