POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES


Representative Hansen, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM on January 4th, 2023, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Committee members and staff introductions.

Vice Chair Jordan assumed the gavel at 3:16 P.M.

HF50 (Hansen); Easement and state land conveying and leasing requirements modified, state forests added to and deleted from, state parks added to, and sales and conveyances of land authorized.

Representative HANSEN moved that HF50 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative HANSEN moved to adopt an amendment to HF 50, the A1 amendment.

Representative HANSEN renewed his motion to adopt the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative HANSEN introduced HF50 as amended.

Testifying on the bill:
- Lori Klein, Attorney with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
- Greg Bernu, Land Commissioner with Carlton County, MN, and the Minnesota Association of County Land Commissioners.

Representative HANSEN renewed his motion that HF50, as amended, be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:39 P.M.
