WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Vice Chair of the Committee, called the hybrid Ways and Means Committee meeting to order at 8:31 A.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted in Capitol Room 120 and over Zoom, and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Garofalo moved to adopt the minutes from Thursday, April 28, 2022. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Olson brought the 2022 Budget Resolution coded BUDRES04-2 before the committee.

Chair Moran moved adoption of the BUDRES04-2-A01 amendment and explained the amendment.

Chair Moran renewed the motion to adopt the BUDRES04-2-A01 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 2725 (Edelson) Statutory procedure established to assess the competency of a defendant to stand trial, contested hearings provided.

Representative Albright moved that HF 2725 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Representative Albright moved to adopt the H2725DE3 amendment.

Representative Albright moved to adopt the H2725A3 amendment to the DE3 amendment. Representative Edelson explained the amendment to the amendment.

Following discussion, Representative Albright renewed the motion to adopt the H2725A3 amendment to the DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Edelson and Representative Albright explained the DE3 amendment as amended.

Following discussion, Representative Albright renewed the motion to adopt the H2725DE3 amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT AS AMENDED WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Albright renewed the motion that HF 2725, as amended, be recommended to be placed on the General Register. A roll call was taken, and the results were as follows:

Vice Chair Olson moved that HF 4670 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Vice Chair Olson moved to adopt the H4670A22-0460 amendment. Representative Murphy explained the amendment.

Following discussion, Vice Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the H4670A22-0460 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
