PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:00 PM on April 7th, 2021 pursuant to House Rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Frazier moved that the minutes of April 6th, 2021 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Chair Mariani moved that HF 1078 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Omnibus Public Testimony

HF 1078 (Mariani) Public safety funding provided; policy and funding provided for Sentencing Guidelines Commission, public safety, Peace Officers Standards and Training Board, Private Detective Board, corrections, and ombudsperson for corrections; report required; and money appropriated.*

*The Chair intends to waive the Amendment Rule regarding Amendments to Amendments and push back the Amendment deadlines 2 hours to the following for Thursday's omnibus bill mark up hearing: 1) Amendments to the DE will be due by Wednesday at 2pm; and 2) Amendments to Amendments to the DE will be due by Wednesday at 7pm
