MINUTES

Representative Hansen, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. on January 18, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services, Facebook Live, and YouTube live streaming

Chair Hansen called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Ruth Richardson provided brief introductory remarks regarding the Metropolitan Landfill Contingency Action Trust (MLCAT) account.

A presentation was given on MLCAT long-term funding for closed landfills.

Presenters:

Hans Neve, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

The chair then heard testifiers on the MLCAT account.

Testifiers:
Mike Slavik, Dakota County Commissioner, and representative of the Association of Minnesota Counties

A presentation was given on the proposed changes to the Burnsville Sanitary Landfill.

Presenters:
Dave Benke, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

A presentation was given on the Pig’s Eye Dump cleanup process.

Presenters:

The chair then heard testifiers on the Pig’s Eye Dump cleanup process.

Chair Hansen adjourned the meeting at 11:56 A.M.
