MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 3:00pm on April 1, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Daniels moved that the minutes from March 31, 2022, be approved. Motion prevailed.

HF 4570 (Rep. Pinto) - Prekindergarten program changes made, voluntary prekindergarten provided for eligible four-year-old children, transition year established for early childhood programs, and money appropriated.

Rep. Jordan moved that HF 4570 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Chair Davnie moved that the A3 author’s amendment to HF 4570 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

Rep. Pinto presented HF 4570, as amended.

Rep. Jordan renewed the motion to lay over HF 4570, as amended, for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.
