MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on March 15, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Daniels moved that the minutes from March 10, 2022, be approved. Motion prevailed.

HF 1742 (Rep. Berg) - Student support personnel aid established.

Rep. Feist moved that HF 1742 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Chair Davnie moved that the DE1 author’s amendment to HF 1742 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

Rep. Berg presented HF1742, as amended.

Rep. Feist renewed the motion to lay over HF 1742, as amended, for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

HF 3634 (Rep. Morrison) - Student mental health screenings required; student mental health support revenue provided.

Rep. Youakim moved that HF 3634 be presented before the committee; be referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Davnie moved that the A3 author’s amendment to HF 3634 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

Rep. Morrison presented HF 3634, as amended.

Rep. Youakim renewed the motion that HF 3634, as amended, be referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee. A roll call vote was taken. Motion prevailed.
