MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on March 10, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Mueller moved that the minutes from March 9, 2022, be approved. Motion prevailed.

HF 917 (Rep. Sandstede) - Transportation sparsity revenue percent increased.

Rep. Sandstede moved that HF 917 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Chair Davnie moved that the A1 author’s amendment to HF 917 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

Rep. Sandstede presented HF 917, as amended.

Rep. Sandstede renewed the motion to lay over HF 917, as amended, for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

HF 3232 (Rep. Marquart) - Long-term facilities maintenance and operating capital revenue modified.

Rep. Marquart moved that HF 3232 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

Chair Davnie moved that the A1 author’s amendment to HF 3232 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.

HF 3224 (Rep. Huot) - School levy formulas and equalization simplified; local optional revenue and long-term facilities maintenance revenue increased.

Rep. Jordan moved that HF 3224 be presented before the committee; be referred to the Taxes Committee.

Rep. Huot presented HF 3224.

Rep. Kresha moved to table HF 3224. A roll call vote was taken. Motion did not prevail.
