AGRICULTURE FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mike Sundin, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 21, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present.

Rep. Thompson moved to approve adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion prevailed. The minutes from the February 16, 2022 meeting were adopted.

HF 2996 (Vang) Industrial hemp extract food additives authorized.

Rep. Vang moved that HF 2996 be recommended to be referred to the Committee on State Government Finance.

HF 3104 (Lislegard) County agricultural society sales tax exemption expanded to include sales prior to county fair, and county agricultural society tax saving transfer to fairground owner requirement removed.

Chair Sundin moved that HF 3104 be recommended to be referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Rep. Lislegard introduced HF 3104.

HF 3217 (Klevorn) Protecting data about individuals connected to farming or agriculture who seek mental or behavioral health assistance or who contact the Minnesota Farm and Rural Helpline.

Rep. Klevorn moved that HF 3217 be recommended to be referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Rep. Klevorn moved the amendment coded H3217A1. The motion prevailed and the A1 amendment was adopted.

Rep. Anderson moved the amendment coded H3217A2. The motion prevailed and A2 amendment was adopted.

Rep. Anderson moved the amendment coded H2969A1. The motion prevailed and the A1 amendment was adopted.
