MINUTES
Representative Michael V. Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM, March 4, 2020 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Quam moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 27, 2020 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Nelson moved HF2533 be referred to the Committee on Ways & Means.
HF2533 (Bernardy); Appropriating money for the Office on the Economic Status of Women and related duties.

Chair Nelson moved to orally amend HF2533 by deleting everything before the word “appropriated” on Line 1.7, and inserting “$161,000 in fiscal year 2021 is”, and by inserting, “The base for the office is $156,000 in fiscal year 2022 and each year thereafter” following Line 1.9. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2533, as amended, be referred to the Committee on Ways & Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Nelson moved HF3429 be referred to Committee on Ways & Means.
HF3429 (Dehn); Various technical and policy changes made relating to voting, voter registration, polling places, ballots, recounts, contests, candidates, and other election-related provisions; and election equipment grant money availability extended.
