MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM, March 28, 2019 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Nelson moved HF1773 be held over for possible inclusion in the Division Omnibus Bill.

Chair Nelson moved Amendment H1773A2. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 1773 (Dettmer); Providing funding to construct the Minnesota Medal of Honor Commemorative Memorial.

The following testified on HF1773:

Chair Nelson held HF1773, as amended, over for possible inclusion in the Division Omnibus Bill.

Representative Huot moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 27th, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The following gave an overview of the Governor’s Recommendation for General Fund contribution to the Public Employees Retirement Association Pension Fund:

Brian Rice, Representing Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board

Chair Nelson moved HF1855 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

HF1855 (Schultz); Proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article IV, section 3; establishing a redistricting commission to prescribe the boundaries of congressional and legislative districts following each federal decennial census; establishing districting principles for congressional and legislative plans.

Rep Albright moved HF1855 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation that it be referred to the Committee on Government Operations, amending Chair Nelson’s motion. Representative Albright requested a roll call vote.
