COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Lesch, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division, called the meeting to order at 9:47 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Considine moved to approve the minutes from March 3, 2020. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3103 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

HF 3103 (Moran): Minnesota Human Rights Act race definition added.

Representative Moran presented HF 3103 to the committee.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3103 be recommended to be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3127 (Moran): Child welfare; modifying requirements for court-appointed counsel in child protection cases.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3127 be recommended to be referred to the Government Operations Committee.

Chair Lesch moved to adopt the DE2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Moran presented HF 3127 to the committee.

Chair Lesch moved that HF 3127, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Government Operations Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
