MINUTES


Representative Lesch, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:49 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Lesch began the meeting at 9:49 a.m. A quorum was present.

Representative Cantrell moved the minutes from March 5, 2019 for approval. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 50 (Hornstein) Cell phone use while a motor vehicle is in motion prohibited, with hands-free mode exception.

Representative Lesch moved HF 50 be re-referred to Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Lesch moved the A8 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hornstein presented HF 50 to the committee.

Representative Lesch renewed his motion to re-refer HF 50 to the Ways and Means committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 50, as amended, was re-referred to the Ways and Means committee.



HF 1115 (Lesch) Cooperative private divorce program established, conforming changes made, and money appropriated.

Representative Lesch moved HF 1115 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Lesch presented HF 1115 to the committee.

Representative Considine moved HF 8 to be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Carlson moved the A16 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 9 (Richardson) Firearms; law enforcement and family members enabled to petition a court to prohibit people from possessing firearms if they pose a significant danger to themselves or others by possessing a firearm.

Representative Lesch moved HF 9 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Cantrell moved the A22 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Richardson presented HF 9 to the committee.

ATTENDING THE HEARING: **Due to high interest in HF 8 & HF 9, this event will be ticketed, and seating will be limited in the hearing room.
