HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY DIVISION

MINUTES

Representative Bernardy, Chair of the Higher Education Finance & Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 2:35 P.M. on January 30, 2019, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Wolgamott moved that the minutes of January 29, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs gave a presentation of the organization and current challenges facing students.

-Stephanie Flores Ortiz, Student

Lead MN gave a presentation of the organization mission, vision, goals, and challenges.

-Frankie Beccera, President of Lead
-Dillon Forcier, Treasurer of Lead
-Julia Yates, Student

The University of Minnesoa gave a presentation of effects of the federal government shutdown on the University.
Testifying:
-Chris Cramer, Vice President of Research
-Mike Volna, Associate Vice President of Finance and Assistant CFO
-Nate Peterson, Associate Director or One Stop Student Services

The meeting was adjourned at 3:57 P.M.
