WATER DIVISION

MINUTES

Representative Peter Fischer, Chair of the Water Division, called the meeting to order at 12:45 pm on Monday February 11, 2019 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members present:

Members excused:

Chair Fischer called the meeting to order at 12:45 pm. A quorum was present.

Representative Claflin moved to adopt the minutes from the division meeting on February 4, 2019. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 408 (Poppe). Cedar River Watershed District funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Chair Fischer moves House File 408 to be re-referred to the Environment Finance Division.

Representative Poppe presented the bill.

Additional testimony was given by the following:

Cody Fox, Cedar River Watershed District

Chair Fischer renews the motion that HF 408 be re-referred to the Environment Finance Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Al Kean, Chief Engineer, BWSR. Gave a presentation on drainage law in Minnesota. The presentation was paused to hear HF 582.

HF 582 (Hansen) Metropolitan area inflow and infiltration grant funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Chair Fischer moves House File 582 be re-referred to the Environment Finance Division.

Representative Hansen presented the bill.

Ross Beckwith, Public Works Director, City of West St Paul

Chair Fischer renews the motion that HF 582 be re-referred to the Environment Finance Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Mr. Kean finished his presentation on drainage law in Minnesota.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 pm.
