MINUTES

Representative Rob Ecklund, member of the Division, called the meeting to order at 9:45 AM on February 25th, 2020, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Lippert moved the minutes from February 20th, 2020.

The motion prevailed.

Minnesota Department of Agriculture update on meat processing/meat inspectors:
• Dr. Nicole Neeser, Dairy & Meat Inspection Division Director, Minnesota Department of Agriculture
• Peder Kjeseth, Director of Government Relations, Minnesota Department of Agriculture

University of Minnesota report on Kosher and Halal meat:
• Anne Dybsetter, Executive Director, Southwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership
• Ariel Kagan, Strategy & Innovation Specialist, Minnesota Department of Agriculture
• Maryan Abdinur, Food, Land and Community Program Lead, Hope Community Inc.

Chair Poppe assumed the gavel at 10:44 AM.

Representative Anderson moved that HF 3458 be recommended to be rereferred to the Division on Capital Investment Finance.

Representative Anderson moved the A20-0650 amendment to HF 3458.

The motion prevailed.

Representative Anderson renewed his motion that HF 3458 as amended be recommended to be rereferred to the Division on Capital Investment Finance.

The motion prevailed.

Representative Lippert moved that HF 3420 be laid over for future consideration.
