MINUTES

Representative Nornes, Chair of the Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:03 PM on March 21, 2018 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Albright moved the minutes of March 20, 2018 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3062 (Dean) Human services commissioner required to seek federal funding to implement an opioid awareness grant program for high school and college students, and report required.

Representative Nornes moves HF3062 to be re-referred to the Health and Human Services Finance Committee.

Representative Dean moves HF3062A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Dean testified on HF3062, as amended.

Representative Nornes renewed the motion that HF3062, as amended, be re-referred to the Health and Human Services Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3900 (Nornes) Higher education policy provisions modified.

Representative Whelan assumed the gavel at 3:09 p.m.

Representative Whelan moved that HF3900 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill, or further consideration at a later time.

Representative Nornes testified on HF3900.
